Misa’s Realistic Texture Pack 64x

Misa's Realistic Texture Pack delivers on its bold claim and makes a dazzling, high resolution visual upgrade for Minecraft. The most obvious reason for calling this texture pack “realistic” is the mob skins. They're lifted almost directly from actual photos of cows, chickens, dogs, and pigs. Civilian NPCs have photos of people's faces (whoever they are, I'm sure they're proud to be on a testificate's face). And while it's impossible to get a real skeleton or zombie's face, Misa makes a great effort and delivers something suitably creepy (especially the ghast).

And it's not just the mob texture packs that have been given a facelift. Armor designs look like something straight out of Halo. And while we've seen animated inventory icons in other mobs, I've never seen them do the same animation when they're selected and in your hand. The whole texture pack is full of these nifty, subtle details—things that you won't notice until you stop and really look. Glowstone, for example, has a gentle pulsating glow. And the faces in soulsand shift and warp in a manner reminiscent of a horror movie.

All this and more at a whopping 64×64 resolution. This texture pack is going to seriously tax your computer, but oh, man is it going to be worth it.
